Our Mission

Preserving the Soul of
Ajrakh

We bridge the gap between ancient Kutch heritage and contemporary global fashion. JBS Azarakh is more than a platform; it is a living archive of craft knowledge, democratizing access to the sacred art of block-printing for a new generation of conscious creators.

“Craft is not just a skill, but a dialogue between generations.”

— Founder, JBS Azarakh

Colorful Fluid Patterns

At the heart of JBS Azarakh is a simple shift: moving fashion designs from one‑off transactions to shared, ongoing value. As a UK‑based fashion‑tech infrastructure platform, we connect emerging designers with Ajrakh master artisans in India and turn their co‑created textiles into IP‑protected, income‑producing “blocks” so that every new use can continue to reward the people who made them.

“Democratisation is not about making the craft easy, but about making it rare and intentional
for everyone.”

The Craft

Ajrakh is more than a technique; it is a living archive of Kutch’s textile soul. For centuries, the artisans of Gujarat have preserved a method of block-printing that honors the precision of the ancient world while embracing the fluidity of contemporary design.

Process of Ajrakh hand block-printing

01. The Block

Hand-carved from dense teak wood, each block is a masterpiece of precision, featuring intricate patterns that have been passed down through generations.

02. The Dye

Deep heritage indigo is extracted from natural plants, creating a color that is both profound and resilient, inseparable from the craft’s identity.

03. The Press

The fabric is laid over the block and pressed with a heavy wooden mallet, ensuring every stitch of the pattern is transferred with absolute clarity.
